UN Humanitarian Coordinator emphasizes on the need to end Israeli occupation

The Mayor of Jericho H.E. Mr. Abdul Karim Sedir , received in his library the coordinator of the OCHA Foundation (United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs Coordination) Mr. Jonathan Whital, in presence of the head of the popular Committee of Aqbat Jabr refugee camp Mr. Jamal Awadat, and the head of the popular Committee of Ein al-Sultan refugee camp Mr. Youssef Manasrah.

Mayor briefed the guest on the violations practiced by Israel against Jericho and the closures, and the recent events that took place in Aqabat Jabr camp, including killing, arrest and house demolition.

And the Mayor, Mr. Whiteal, called for the need of immediate intervention in order to make pressure on Israel to stop its fierce attack and racist policy against Palestinians. the OCHA coordinator stressed that they are following the events closely, documenting all violations, and informing the United Nations presidency of all the details.

The heads of the popular committees of the Aqbat Jabr and Ain al-Sultan refugee camps briefed the guest on the conditions of the two camps. the director of OCHA visited Aqbat Jabr camp and noticed closely at all the violations, in addition to visiting the families of the martyrs whose bodies are being detained , as well as the families and prisoners.
